Sad as it may be, this is the reality we must acknowledge today. The values of love, courtesy, and mutual respect are increasingly fading within our society.
For example, the Christmas Message delivered by the Honourable Head of State of Sabah, His Excellency Tun Haji Musa Haji Aman, has been mocked and ridiculed by irresponsible parties.
Such actions should never have happened, even though many of the comments were made by fake accounts or “cybertroopers” who may have been paid or instructed by certain individuals. This behaviour sets a bad example for the younger generation, encouraging them to disrespect the Head of State of Sabah.
Tun Musa was appointed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong not for any personal interest, but based on his credibility, capability and extensive experience.
His appointment is also a recognition of his contributions, abilities, and great service to Sabah during his tenure as Chief Minister.
Therefore, I urge the people of Sabah to re-evaluate the slander that has been thrown against Tun Musa all this while. The truth is, those were political attacks, and the courts have proven that Tun Musa is not guilty of all the accusations.
This case has long been settled from a legal standpoint. Thus, ongoing attacks and insults against him should cease in the interest of maintaining harmony and unity in our beloved state.
